Vidal Sassoon Hot Rollers -

4 Morning Hair Fixes To Get You Out The Door Less Stressed

  • Hot rollers can be a girl's best friend to give some lift and bounce to hair , and the great thing is you only need about eight jumbo rollers. Once your hair has cooled, take the rollers out and give your hair a good brush. Heat them up, take large sections that have been spritzed with a little hairspray (such as Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Flexible Hold Hairspray ), roll them up in your hair and pin them in place. Then part your hair all the way down the middle of the head and run a little bit of mousse through each side. ) Another quick way to get waves is to part the hair down the middle as before and create two braids. If this is the case, try rough drying your hair until it's 40 percent dry. When you unpin the buns, either brush out with your fingers or a brush -- either way, you should have beautiful, loose waves.

Where to buy replacement metal pins for hot rollers?

I had bought two VIDAL SASSOON vs372 hot roller sets. I have lost the metal pins that come with them. Is there anywhere I can buy replacement ones? Maybe a website or the product website. They where assorted sizes.

I volunteer in a charity/2nd hand store. I saw an entire set of rollers and pins come in yesterday. You might want to pop into 2nd hand stores in your area. It would be less expensive if you can find them there. You can always put them in alcohol or bleach for a few minutes to clean /sterilize them. Otherwise you can Google Vidal Sassoon hot rollers and search for the replacement pins.

OK, I'm older and haven't bought hot curlers ( is that is what they still call them ? ) for about 20 years, and I went looking at them yesterday and I'm not sure what makes these new types good or bad, any suggestions to consider ? thanks :)

Hello I Love Jesus. Yes,some people still calling it hot curlers but nowadays they call it curling tong.It doesn't mind, the important thing is,we do know what it is,right? There few good brands and my suggestions are these:- - GHD brand - Empress brand - Vidal Sassoon brand - Babyliss brand - VO5 brand. i saw a set of hot rollers in priceline the other day i don't know if they were good or not. you can still buy a good set of hot rollers but look around as they aren't as easy to find as straighteners or curling wands. you could always buy a curling wand instead, they have good ones out now. what ever you use, use a good quality heat protecting spray as well. look for something with - tourmaline - variable temperature (using on the lowest heat setting possible is better) - ionic technology - Infrared heat or try curling without heat using velcro rollers or foam rollers google search 'hot rollers' or 'curling wand'

About this book
More than 150 million Americans were born after the post-World War II years. Almost all of them know, remember, and hold dear to their hearts the numerous memories that stretch From ABBA to Zoom. Take a walk . . . down memory lane, you Boomers and Gen Xers! From ABBA to Zoom is sure to grab anyone born in the 1950s, '60s, '70s, or '80s. Whether you grew up watching The Huckleberry Hound Show, Johnny Quest, or Sesame Street, this cultural encyclopedia is sure to draw you into a nostalgic and fun-filled read that you just can't put down. American pop culture aficionado David Mansour spent 18 years accumulating an extensive collection of dolls, lunch boxes, board games, TV memorabilia, and other items from the 1960s through the '90s. That fascination, along with his lifelong lists--from "best toys" to "all-time coolest singers"--were the genesis for this wide-ranging volume of Boomer and Generation X treasures. Readers will relish the mere mention of some of their greatest childhood and adolescent connections, then rush to learn the well-researched details behind those icons. Farrah Fawcett's feathered hair, James Bond movies, Lost in Space, Woodstock--it's all here! In page after page, more than 3,000 references arranged alphabetically make this a true trip through the Boom Times. Totally groovy!

Its exactly the right size with the right number of curlers. Who uses the little curlers in those big sets? These heat up fast, they travel well and they last. I have had mine for a few years. I haven't been able to find this product anywhere other than Amazon. I was so happy with this set that I bought a set for each of my sisters. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 28, 2007

    Decent enough

Unlike others I've tried and returned, these rollers give off no awful fumes, and are the closest thing I've found to two little sets of Revlon I bought decades ago that lasted so long they were out of production by the time I needed to replace them. Those were great: not too big, not too small, not too heavy, and a circle on the rollers changed color when the temp was right. That quality doesn't seem to exist anymore, or not at a price that makes sense. Hot rollers are imperfect so you have to decide what you really need and give up the rest. Generally, you can choose from:1. Sets that smoke and stink. Do NOT buy Conair for this reason. (They scare me.)2. Sets that contain graduated sizes: not enough of what you need; too many you never use3. Sets with rollers that are covered in hair-grabbing material that falls apart4. Small sets of enormous rollers, too few for a whole head and a little heavy for travel5. Exactly What I Was Looking For

I bought this Helen of Troy Hot Setter 05 in early August 2012 to replace a set just like it (but under the Vidal Sassoon label) that I had used from 4 to 7 days a week for maybe as long as 20 years. My old set was still heating up quickly and working faithfully, but it was so old the edges of some of the rollers were starting to break, and when I finally dropped one of these very old rollers on my travertine floor the inner core popped out. I was able to push it back in but was about to leave on a trip and decided it was time to replace the whole unit and started searching. I should also mention that not only was it great for use at home, but it is compact and easy to pack and we love to pack light and travel often, so I had used it all over the world with converters, and we were within a few days of our next trip when that happened. This Helen of Troy set is the perfect replacement! It seems to be the very same unit - except that it now automatically converts itself between 110... 5/5 Beck (Houston, TX United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Remind me of the original Clairol hot rollers I used to use

Every since my last set of Remington hot rollers went out (after about 10 years of use), I could only find ionic hot rollers in the local stores. I tried a set, and they didn't curl my hair/hold curl at all. I started searching online and still had hard time finding "regular" hot rollers in the same size range (3/4" - 1 1/4") that I was accustomed to, but these looked and sounded similar online. While the curlers do take a long time to heat (and they don't necessarily seem that hot even when they are heated), they curled my hair on the first try and the curl held. The case is convenient, but the lid is a little awkward to maneuver. The rods (actually "slats") that the curling irons are posted on only go about halfway up the roller (the same as my last set of hot rollers, but different than my original Clairols where the posts when all the way to the top), but, so far, that seems sufficient to heat the roller. Now, I hope they'll last as long as my previous sets... 4/5 Carolyn Dillahunt (Washington State) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I am so thrilled with the results from my first use! My hair is shiny, has held the curl( even on a summer day with an outside temp of 95 and major humidity!!). My previous set was Conair Velvet rollers and they never held the curl. The plastic on that set broke immediately, I feel this Revlon hairsetter is durable and easy to use. I recommend it highly. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 5, 2009

0 4/5 Suzanne - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Vidal Sasson VS433C Tangle-Free Hot Air Brush Styler and Dryer, 1 Inch (Health and Beauty) I've been buying this hot air brush for about 5 years. Easy to use and adds a lot of bounce to your hair. Eliminates the need for a blow dryer in one hand and a brush in the other. Only criticism is that if you don't clean out the air intake area(at the bottom of the handle) with a toothpick every couple of months the unit will overheat and the motor fails. Keep both intake areas clean and it will last a long time. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 5, 2011

Don't Know What I'd Do Without It

I stick with something when it works, and this styling wand does that. My hair's kinda funny--it has a mind of its own, but it cooperates nicely with Vidal. I found the prior model of this hot air brush almost a decade ago and have been using them ever since.I used the brush while my hair was short, and I use it still now that it's long. My hair is rather coarse and is a mix of curly and straight with lots of cowlicks. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair, the brush must be doing something right! It's good for smoothing down the frizzies and getting all the ends going in the right direction after a shampoo, and it's good for touch-ups in between. And is so much easier than hot curlers or the blow-dryer/roll brush combination method.Usually I allow my hair to air dry until it's just damp and then finish it with the hot air brush, but in a hurry, I blow it nearly dry and then use the brush. With just a trace of dampness, my hair responds... 5/5 Rachel Barr (Fort Davis, TX USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Love these Rollers, puzzled by negative reviews.

I was shopping for some jumbo hot rollers and ran across this set that I purchased a several months ago. I was curious about the review rating so I read them and am puzzled. I cannot share the same opinion as the negative reviewers. I find that the rollers heat extremely well and retain the heat. In fact, I begin using them when the indicator dot just begins to turn. Once I place the primary four large rollers in my hair I unplug the set to prevent overheating the curlers and causing damage to my hair since hot rollers should not be used everyday and can cause split ends. I have medium thick hair and a lot of it, it's shoulder length, no bangs and this set curls my hair beautifully! In fact, I have curly hair day one, and beautiful fluffy and nicely shaped hair the second day. I love the metal clips, but there is a trick to using them. You must put them in to keep tension on the curler - for instance, you put the clip in from the opposite direction that you rolled your hair... 5/5 Skatejorer (Beautiful Southern Ohio) - See all my reviews This review is from: Conair Compact Hairsetter, Blue (Health and Beauty) I was shopping for some jumbo hot rollers and ran across this set that I purchased a several months ago. Exactly what I wanted from Rollers

I'm puzzled by the reviews for this, since I have had a really good experience with these.I usually air dry my below-shoulder length hair, which is naturally just a bit wavy and fine but a lot of it. But for my wedding rehearsal dinner, I had my heart set on using rollers to look a bit more special and I've been using them since. I don't need all the sizes in this pack, but the ones that are right for me work very well. At first I thought that having the clips attached to the roller was simply convenient, then I realized it was also keeps the roller in place better if you clip the roller on the opposite side to where the elastic thread is attached. I ended up buying two packs to get the quantity of the sizes that I wanted. 0 5/5 Sweetpea (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews This review is from: Remington H-1015 Ceramic Compact, Large and Medium Roller (Health and Beauty) Great compact design. Takes up very little room in your suitcase. Rollers heat up & are ready to use in about 2-3 minutes like the product claims. Sets hair better then most rollers (and I have tried many). The only thing that I would change, is to add 2-4 more rollers. But I liked these rollers so much, I actually bought a 2nd set & use these at home over the 5 other sets of rollers I own!! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 6, 2006

0 5/5 Kay in DC "Kay" (Washington, DC United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I have very fine, very straight, limp and thick hair. After years of struggling with round brushes and curling irons, I decided to go back to hot curlers. This set has two advantages over my previous efforts with hot rollers: it has storage for the clips so you don't have to keep track of them, and the curlers don't burn your fingers or scalp. I feared that they wouldn't be hot enough to curl my stubborn hair. But, leaving them in for 30 minutes while I did other morning chores, does the trick. The number and sizes of the rollers are just what I need. I do use setting sprays along with it, and the curls last beautifully. It might make curls that are too tight for someone whose hair is easier to curl than mine. But leaving them in a shorter length of time should take care of that problem. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 10, 2006

Best Hair Tool in the World!!!!

I bought this after reading all (well mostly) positive reviews. I always loved the way my hair looked when it was curled, but if I used a curling iron or hot rollers, my hair would uncurl in a few minutes. This is the only product I can use to curl my hair. There are a few tricks and tips I would tell people.1. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you roll them.2. Don't leave the curler on the steaming unit too long.3. Steam the sheild before putting it in place4. After you wait the 10 minutes for the curl to set, take the time and blow dry the curls on the cool heat setting. This sets the curl and can make it last for days longer.5. If possible, use distilled water.6. If you have read any other reviews, I'm sure you've heard about the unit dying after a few months. Actucally, the machine just needs to be cleaned!!!! Minerals in tap water build up and cause blockages on the inside, all you have to do is mix 1 tablespoon of vinger and... 5/5 Linda Storm (Florida) - See all my reviews This review is from: Caruso C97953 30 Molecular Steam Hairsetter with 30 Rollers (Health and Beauty) I bought this after reading all (well mostly) positive reviews. Deceptively simple!

I was suspicious when I found this product for $30 at a beauty supply place. That seemed kind of low for 30 heated rollers. I got even more suspicious when I found out that they were "just" sponge rollers and had to be "heated" one at a time.I gave it a try anyway, since I haven't had much luck with conventional dry hot rollers. This unit shoots hot steam through each roller, which takes only a few seconds apiece, so you heat them as you go. You can also steam-heat the clips (they call them "shields") so the hair on the roller gets heated from both sides. Then you can just let them cool off on their own, or help them along with a hair dryer.I still had my doubts about this product since the rollers, when steamed, didn't seem very hot (compared to regular dry hot rollers). But the sponge rollers grabbed my hair well and the "shields" kept them from unwinding or falling out, which was already a big plus over other hot rollers. To my surprise, the curls... 5/5 Darthjal "Darthjal" (North America) - See all my reviews This review is from: Caruso C97953 30 Molecular Steam Hairsetter with 30 Rollers (Health and Beauty) I was suspicious when I found this product for $30 at a beauty supply place. Clips are a big improvement

I use hot rollers nearly every day of my life, and I am quite familiar with the different types available. This set is a sort of update to a Conair set that used plastic clips that were heated individually inside the unit. (This unit does not heat the clips.)PROS:- Heats up quickly...but not in 85 seconds. Come on, anything that heats up in 85 seconds would scorch your hair off anyway! ;-) I'd say more like 5 minutes to get them good and hot...fast enough.- The clips are AWESOME!! I have used everything from the old wire clips to the plastic claw-style clips, and then ones that come with this set are the best at both holding the roller in place AND not "denting" your hair. They are amazing at holding the largest (and heaviest) rollers in place, even when there's very little hair in them. The only problem? I'm not so sure they'll last for many years...already one has a prong broken off. It still works, but if that happens every time, this set... 4/5 Nelly "Vision Teacher" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews This review is from: Infiniti Pro by Conair Xtreme Instant Heat Ceramic Rollers (Misc.) Easy to use, but I can't get them to hold a curl

I upgraded to these when the fuzzy coating on my old rollers was wearing off, and I was burning my fingers. I did a bit of research and landed on these for a few reasons.1. I liked the variety of sizes2. I wanted something that heated quickly3. The price was within my rangeThe pros- They're very compact and don't take up alot of room on your countertop- The clips hold very well without leaving marks on your hairThe cons- You'll have to find a place to store the clips, the set does not include a bag for this (no big deal, I keep them in a drawer)- I really cannot keep a curl with these. Normally, my hair kind of fades in 6 hrs or so, but with these, in an hour its lost its curl. It will retain a smooth shape, but no curl. I really don't think its my hair, as I can keep a curl with an iron as well. They just don't seem to get hot enough!I am going to try to let them heat up longer, and see if that helps, but I... 3/5 Tracy E. Hood "Horse Lover" (PA) - See all my reviews, October 11, 2012

Could work well in the hands of an experienced curler

The Infiniti Pro Ceramic Curlers seem to do a decent job of curling hair, though I did not always get great results. My experiences may not be representative, however. The directions say that users should experiment, trying different heats, times, and sizes for their hair type, and it may be that I just haven't found the optimal setting for my own hair yet. That said, here are my pros and cons:PROS--The directions are easy to follow (though, oddly, the pictures included make it seem as if you're going to come out of the process with an 80's hair style).--The set comes with 20 rollers (in four different sizes) and 20 hair clips (and you can order more if you need to).--It doesn't take long to use the curlers. (The curlers take only 85 seconds to heat up.) The time used will vary depending on hair type, but the directions say no longer than ten minutes. I found that a couple minutes worked on my curly/wavy hair. In other words, users... 4/5 Debra Hamel (North Haven, CT) - See all my reviews, August 8, 2012
