Melted Crayon Art

I also used a blow dryer Those did not turn out so well but when I used all Crayola brand, it looked lovely. On my first attempt I used random broken crayons from my daughters art stash. I've been doing a lot on canvas like Adirondack ink on canvas and tile with spritzes of alcohol. There were Crayola and then other random brands. The other crayons barely melt and you get this clumpy sort of thing. In the meantime, I've been trying to do some creative things.

i need help with an outfit?

I need something to wear for school. i dress in sort of a tomboy way, hoodies and jeans. I want to dress girly for school though. so if anyone could give me outfit ideas, id really appreciate it. hair and makeup ideas would be great too! im 17, 5'4 and pretty slim i have dark brown hair and hazel eyes and im really pale.I live in Southern California. thanks

Now with makeup, you can go to CVS and buy foundation that is compatible with your skin color, along with a little darker powder foundation. Use black eyeliner to highlight your eyes. If you want to do shadow you can use browns and golds for an outfit like this, the darker color on the ends of your eyelids. Some mascara and if you'd like a light shade of peach pink lipstick and your set. As far as hair you can always straighten or curl. When you blow dry your hair flip your head over (if your hair is flat you can go to CVS and buy products to give you thicker hair like a type of moose thickener) blow it backwards and straighten. For curling you can buy the conair YOU wand curling iron. You can use youtube for tutorials. It's simple you'll get the hang of it, whoever's fashion you idolize you can use to create your own style. I personally likes whites and browns together. Jeans and a top with a pop of color. High waist pants with a cute top tucked in. Hope this helps, good luck!

What Shampoo/Conditioner & Heat Protectant Spray Works Best?

Alright, so my hair is pretty dead and i want to make it healthy again. I straighten my hair almost every day. I dye my hair every three to four months. I use is a Remington straightener, a Revlon wand, & a Conair blow dryer. I do not know the specific details for these. I use 'Paul Mitchell : Skinny Serum' / 'Sexy hair : Power Straight (not at the same time). I also spray a little bit of the TRESamme heat protectant on my ends. I currently am using the TRESamme Smooth & Silky shampoo/conditioner. The problem I have with most shampoos/conditioners is that my hair gets super oily. Easily. What hair appliances do you recommend the most, that wont cause as much damage? What Shampoo/Conditioner will help restore my hair, make it healthy, but not make it super oily. & What products help the most with protecting it from heat/helping restoring it. Please & Thank You. Oh, & my hair is really wavy and super poofy in the morning. which is why i straighten it.

Csilla | Feb 12, 2013
if you want your hair healthy, STOP STRAIGHTENING IT EVERYDAY! and you should get regular trims once a month
Tabby | Feb 12, 2013
You need a shampoo that's for damaged hair and you need to put the heat protection all over your hair and not just on your ends. Garnier and Tresemme are good brands. Focus your conditioning on the length and ends of your hair and not so much towards your scalp and that should help a little with the oil problem. I love Aussie's heat protection spray.
Hannah | Feb 13, 2013
The best heat protection spray would be the TRESemm'e Thermal Creations! This works so amazing and prevents your hair from getting split ends or damaged hair from heat. You can get this at Target for $5.00! Its so amazing and I totally recommend it. I hope this helped:)!!!!!
Desiree | Feb 13, 2013
I use pro naturals moroccan argan oil hair shampoo and conditioner, they work pretty good, helps to repair the damaged hair and provide color protection, plus leaves the hair soft and healthy.
Chloe | Feb 13, 2013
Hmm ok you can use the argan oil hair care line because they have these sulfate free shampoo and conditioner that hlps keep hair strong and healthy from heat styling. Salons use them, the line is called pro naturals. You can only get them online at pro hair sites though. They have an argan oil heat protectant but it's not greasy, you use it on damp hair after a shower so your hair dries better and doesnt poof out. But you know, if your hair is thick then you should get the cocoa keratin treatment to smooth your hair down for months, it'll save a lot of time and damage by straightening everyday.

Best hair dryer I've ever owned

I've owned this dryer for only a few weeks, so I cannot speak to its longevity. This is my third hair dryer with a cord reel, which I find convenient. The first one was OK and worked well, but was noisy. My second one (), which I used for only a couple months, was also noisy. The cord in it was also too short (4 feet) and when retracting it, rewound so quickly that the plug would whip around and hit me painfully in the hand. I had to be careful about how to hold it when retracting the cord. It also had only fast/hot and slow/warm settings. I got fed up with it, so I looked for new options at a local Target.I found this dryer and was hesitant to pay twice as much for it as I did the previous ones. I couldn't imagine what could be special enough about it to justify two and a half... 5/5 Marshall (Denver, CO, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Conair YOU Cord Reel 2-in-1 Hair Dryer (Health and Beauty) I've owned this dryer for only a few weeks, so I cannot speak to its longevity. So this is a Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer. What's in it for Me?

So this is a Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer. What's in it for Me?(For model specific info, skip down to the *******)Ionic. Ceramic. Tourmaline. If you've shopped for a hair dryer or flipped through a beauty magazine in the past few years you've likely seen these buzz words. Yet what do they mean to you, the consumer?"Ceramic" - The coil (the component of the hairdryer that heats the air to dry the hair) is made of ceramic which heats more evenly than a metal coil - purported to cause less damage to hair."Ionic" - Very simply, "ions" are atoms or molecules with a positive or negative charge - because the atom has gained or lost an electron. Great! but what does that have to do with hairdryers? According to hair dryer manufacturers, "instead of taking the air from the room and heating it, an ionic hair dryer uses negative ions to shrink the water droplets in hair . . . [helping] dry hair faster and with less damage, making it smooth and shiny."... 5/5 L. Hawkins (USA) - See all my reviews, September 24, 2008

    Works Great

I regularly have to dry my daughters hair (she's 10). Being a ham-fisted male, I have a hard time working with some of the arcane tools I've been provided (a hair iron?). I just finished using this dryer on her hair and it works great, even for me.The device is designed very well. The retractable cord makes the dryer easy to store and retrieve. The settings are very simple to use and with only a few available, I'm not spending all kinds of time figuring out which ones to take advantage of. The high heat setting was not at all uncomfortable for me or my daughter, but with the trigger to switch on cool air, if my hands or her head got hot, we had quick relief if needed. It dried her hair very fast, but I could tell that it wasn't damaging the hair as it did it. The attachment that dries and untangles proved to big for my daughters shorter hair, but she may grow into it. I used the the funnel attachment quite a lot because it made controlling the flow & direction of the air... 5/5 Grant Fritchey (MA) - See all my reviews, September 1, 2008

    Some pluses, some minuses

This is my only experience with an ionic hair dryer, so I have nothing with which to compare this one. However, I bought it because I had several expections about its features. Here is how each feature measured up:Quicker? NO. It may even take a little longer than a standard 1875-watt dryer. The reason is that the fan does not blow very hard. The "high" setting blows about like the "low" setting on a standard dryer.Reduced frizz/flyaways/static? YES. These are significantly reduced.Increased shine? YES. My hair is visibly shinier.Quieter? YES, but qualified. The only reason it is quieter is because it doesn't blow air as hard as a regular dryer.Freshens hair? YES.Another drawback: This dryer is very heavy. It took me several days to get used to how heavy it is.This dryer delivers almost all of what ionic hairdryers promise, but I was mostly hoping for a dryer to speed drying time. If you have thin hair or hair that dries quickly... 3/5 Virginia Reviewer (Virginia) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) New shine for the ol' mane

As a child of the Sixties, I still wear my hair long and I blow it dry every morning. When my old Hartman Protech 1600 hair dryer hit the bathroom floor, things weren't the same. Eventually, in a spectacular pyrotechnic display, it breathed its last.Since I had paid 20 bucks for it way back when, I was ready to spend that much on a replacement. Much to my surprise, in the 10 or so years I'd owned that dryer, a lot had changed, and now the same money buys a lot more hair dryer, so with some dough to spare, I bought one of these. Many complain that it doesn't pack the same wallop as other dryers but that's a case of perception versus reality. The Conair's barrel has a larger diameter than most dryers and its fan is quieter, so while the perceptible breeze isn't as blustery, it's still moving plenty of air. I know because I use an egg timer to count off 3 minutes while I dry my hair and the Conair never leaves my hair damp (a barber told me that after 3 minutes of blow drying,... 5/5 Joe Ekaitis "gray-haired geek" (Southern California) - See all my reviews This review is from: Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Conditioning Hair Dryer (Health and Beauty) As a child of the Sixties, I still wear my hair long and I blow it dry every morning. I like this dryer alot.

I wrote this review 3 years ago. 3/2006 and this dryer is still going strong. This dryer is definitely quieter than most. I purchased it after I dropped my previous Quiet dryer from Conair and the clip that holds on the diffuser broke. No diffuser makes a dryer useless to me. I had to use my back-up dryer (not a Conair, the one time I strayed) for a few days. I could hear the difference when I got this new Conair. It's much quieter and was significantly lighter. I'm not very impressed with the IONIC portion of it, hence the 4 stars. The diffuser is nice and big. It attaches solidly (without clips that can break) and really stays on there. The hanging loop is a big plus too. I will never buy another dryer without one again. I like Conair because they stand the test of time. I've never burnt one out. I need a hair dryer that can take a lot of abuse and Conair's have always been able to do that.I'd like to point out also that I have never tripped a circuit... 4/5 0, April 20, 2003

0 5/5 Beth - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Conair 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ceramic Hair Dryer (Health and Beauty) I love this dryer. I used a similar one at Planet Hollywood in Vegas and tracked it down when I got home. I have wavy hair that always frizzes into a puff ball when I use a hairdryer. I had switched from my old dryer to the Remington Wet2Straight which I thought was the greatest invention ever, but this dryer quickly replaced it. The key is the high power motor, it gets my entire head dry in less than 10 minutes, with no frizz. A quick run through with a straightener after I'm done is all I need. Plus it's lightweight and quiet. This product saves me at least 15 minutes in the morning that I used to waste getting frustrated with my hair...try it! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 8, 2008

Some good features, but a couple of small issues

This dryer is very lightweight, quiet and it dries hair quickly. The three heat settings are great. So why not 5 stars? I have a couple gripes.First, the matte effect of the dryer is produced by a plastic coating over the shiny black plastic of the dryer. After a couple months (if that), this started to flake off, and now it's a patchwork of matte/shiny. I guess it's just an aesthetic thing, but the words next to the controls (high/med/low) are gone entirely.Second, the concentrator nozzle is not very secure. It pops off with a light bump. So while I'm drying and straightening my hair, the nozzle pops off at least one or two times. I use the concentrator every time I blow dry, so this gets annoying. The diffuser, too, doesn't stay on well. I think it's because the attachments are made so that they click in place inside the end of the dryer rather than going over the end of the dryer.Anyway, if you never use an attachment and don't care about flaking plastic,... 3/5 D. Works great on thick hair

The Conair SD8 Tourmaline Ceramic Hairdryer is great for anyone who has thick hair that takes forever to dry. I am Latina so my hair is very dense and naturally curly. I tried out all the attachments and the one that works the best is the straightening double comb. I was able to dry my hair in half the time it normally takes. The hairdryer dried my hair straight but it did not leave it does not leave it in a smooth/polish look. I still had to use a flat iron for the finish look but it took less time than what I am used to. Tourmaline ceramic ionic technology smooths down cuticles to help reduce frizz and leave hair more manageable and easy to manage/style. The technology also reduces that static that we makes our hair stand up straight. At 1875 watts it is very powerful and has a very forceful air flow. However, I do wish it came with a medium heat setting since the low setting is not powerful enough and the high setting has too much power for bangs and the hair that... 4/5 Zulma Johnson (New York) - See all my reviews, February 23, 2010

After washing my hair with Mizani's Botanifying shampoo and conditioner, I then use Fantasia (IC) Hair Polisher/Heat Protector Serum and then use my hair dryer. My hair is so much healthier and I am very happy. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 17, 2011

The Good:*It's REALLY fast (so fast that I sometimes end up with a weird cowlick or whatever because I didn't realize some of my hair was already dry and I'd missed the styling window)*It makes my hair even shinier than usual*Gets rid of frizzies pretty well as long as you don't hang out in the humid bathroom for too long*Requires less coordination than brush/dryer comboThe Bad:*It's VERY loud and high-pitched and I do have to dry the hair behind my ears, which means the noise is aimed right in my ear canal, and that ain't good (I put cotton balls in my ears before I turn the dryer on)*It blows my hair around so I don't have a lot of control over the end result of my efforts (to be honest with you I don't usually care that much)*It's a bit heavy, and because you use it like a brush, it gets really close to your head (which in my case means I crack myself in the head with it every few... 3/5 wild animals - See all my reviews, November 17, 2007

Great hair dryer for smoothing out curls.

This hair dryer (with the brush attachment) gives you the same results you would get from the traditional blow dryer and big round brush technique (the way they do it at the salon), except this is much simpler. I divide my hair into small sections and clip them up. Then I dry one section at a time starting from the bottom. The whole process goes very quickly this way.I've tried other similar dryers but found the brush attachment to be too soft. This one has a stiff brush which is essential to really grasp the hair so that it dries straight. I still need to use a flat iron to really get my hair smooth, but the ironing goes quicker if I dry my hair this way first. (If your hair is not as curly as mine, you'll probably get smoother results and not need the flat iron)The brush will wear down with time, but you can order replacements for about $3.50 each. The comb attachments are totally useless (for me). Not sure why anyone would want to use them... 5/5 chaos - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Conair 1875 Watt Ion Shine Hair Styler (Misc.) Grandma's new dryer

0 4/5 Grammy Geek (Dracut, Massachusetts) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Infinity Pro by Conair 1875 watt Hair Dryer - Purple (Misc.) This is an updated version of my previous dryer. Being a senior with less arm and shoulder strength I Love the lightness... I found it easier to handle because it has a shorter snout...but, It's almost too powerful for my new short hair. Recently had to change to a shorter style and a soft perm because of some shoulder impending surgery. Now, wish it included a diffuser. Before surgery, I used a curling brush and dryer for styling. Can't wait to heal and get back to pre-perm and curling brush then I'll really be able to use the power of this new dryer.Update: Five months later. Shoulder has healed. Perm is history! Using just curling brush and dryer, I have no problems holding this dryer over and behind my head. The dryer is easy to handle, its well balanced, but quite a strong blow for short hair...and its pretty loud! Wish it had another setting for less power.I like it well enough that I purchased another, at Costco, just like it to have as a spare. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 24, 2013

Don't believe the reviews or descriptions- it is NOT lightweight! Not even remotely!

0 3/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Infinity Pro by Conair 1875 watt Hair Dryer - Purple (Misc.) VERY disappointed in the reviews and descriptions here. It's not at ALL lightweight! In fact I worked in salons with pro dryers that were lighter. It's 2 1/2 lbs with a long nozzle. Even with long arms I had a hard time holding my arm up and out long enough to get on top of my hair. I do have bad shoulders right now so part of it is that but I will say for those who have short arms, definitely pass this one up unless you're the type of person who dries head down dryer pointed up. Great power and visually I LOVE the color and sleek texture/design. It's just not ideal for me. I would recommend it to someone with long strong arms/hands/wrists who uses it primarily for quick hair drying, not styling/straightening. Good price point, decent dryer, great quality, again, just not for me. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 19, 2013

The Wife Says "Best Ever" For Her....

This hair dryer is the third in a series of attempts to find the right hair dryer for my wife, who has long thick hair. The first one was a Vidal Sassoon that had ionic technology, but didn't get near hot enough. She was drying her hair for > 20 minutes. The second attempt was the Revlon RV469 ceramic, which was much quieter and got hotter, but didn't have much air flow. Also, it is quite heavy. It was better than the first dryer, but not hair drying nirvana. This dryer (Revlon RV544) has easily cut my wife's drying time in half. She has very thick & long hair, and the high heat setting makes quick work of it. It gets hot enough that I actually tone it down to warm for myself (I have short, thick hair) whenever I have to use the dryer. I think the air flow settings are perfect. The dryer is also nice and light, and fits in a bathroom drawer easily, unlike some of the bulkier models out there. My wife thinks this is the best dryer she has ever... 5/5 IAMSLICK (Roswell, GA) - See all my reviews, July 22, 2006

    Light and Effective--Great Buy!

I was a skeptic when it came to hairdryers--they all blow air into your hair and it dries, right? Not so! The technology in this hair dryer is tourmaline ionic, meaning it reduces static, frizz, and boosts shine. I had a vidal sassoon before, and a Conair before that, and they were supposedly "ionic" but my hair was still quite a bit frizzy afterwards. This Revlon is amazing, though--my hair is so straight, sleek, and shiny, without having to apply a bunch of creams or shining sprays. It saves a lot of time! It comes with two attachments (diffuser, concentrator)--I've only used the concentrator to straighten my hair and it takes around six minutes and works effectively. Also, a HUGE bonus is its lightweight! The comparable Conair version (nearly same price, ionic) is so so much heavier, while this hairdryer is easy to move, so I can pick it up and use it all over my hair. The only con about this as others have mentioned is that you have to hold it carefully... 5/5 Sydney (Lexington, MA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Revlon RV544PKF 1875W Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer (Health and Beauty) I was a skeptic when it came to hairdryers--they all blow air into your hair and it dries, right? Singing the praises of the RV544

0 5/5 Legend in My Own Mind (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Revlon RV544PKF 1875W Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer (Health and Beauty) I cannot say enough good things about this dryer! It dries incredibly quickly, is the lightest I have ever owned, and is very reasonably priced. I was going to buy the T3 Tourmaline for nearly 10 times the price, until I realized the seller would not honor its warantee on products purchased through Amazon. I have forever retired my previous ceramic dryer, which strained my arm so much, I considered installing a bracket on my body to hold it up. Other small details that make a difference: loop for hanging; buttons well-placed so on/off and cold setting are not hit by accident; comfortable to hold by nozzle instead of handle if desired.I first reviewed this product in 2006. I don't use it every day, but it's held up for almost four years. I continue to be pleased with it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 7, 2006

When I first pulled it out of the box I was surprised to find that mine at least had a sparkly finish but I decided to try it before passing any judgments on how the product works. I'm happy I did. The dryer has 6 settings each tailored to a different hair type, which is great. In addition to that handy perk, it also has instant cool for setting styles. My hair is always very soft and pretty after using the dryer. Glad to say that I love it! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 19, 2011

Good performance but careful retracting the cord

I haven't bought a new hair dryer in 20 years. I blow dry so infrequently that my old windmere still works. But I figured it was time to get a better, safer dryer.I chose this dryer based on the price and reviews. Modern dryers are all much bigger and heavier than the old ones which is kind of annoying. If any part of this dryer overhangs the edge of the counter, the whole thing starts to slide off.The dryer itself works well, my hair is quite thick and I thought it worked very quickly to get my hair to an almost dry state. (I never blow all the way dry to keep the hair healthier.) I also like the cool air option. The cord is definitely long enough for use when you're at the bathroom counter. It's great to have it so neatly tuck away inside the dryer. My only caution is retracting the cord. It snaps back pretty fast which cause the plug end with it's safety block to whish around. It banged into the cabinets and almost knocked something off the... 3/5 PandaWatcher (CA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Conair 209R Ion Shine(s) for Under $20.00!

You can't get much for $20 these days. However, an Andrew Jackson will get you the Conair 209R Ion Shine 1875 watt hair dryer from Amazon.com, and your even have some change left over! This dryer produces an impressive jet stream of air, with a selection of 3 heat settings. The technical specifications boast "Clouds of negatively-charged ions neutralize positive charges that are in the air and reduce the static electricity that causes fly-away frizzies and dulls hair." Well, I don't know what all of that means but I will admit that my hair is not frizzy after using this dryer. There is also a cold-shot button, which quickly removes heat from the air output, which is a great feature. The dryer has a little weight to it, but it is not bulky and seems to be balanced quite well. All hair dryers are fairly noisey but this Conair 209R Ion Shine is quieter than most of my previous dryers. One of my favorite features of this model, the built-in cord retractor, seems to be... 5/5 M. 0 3/5 juliejulesp - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Technology Hair Dryer (Misc.) I was hoping for a little more power with this hairdryer. I previously owned a Rusk Speed Freak and was hoping for something comparable but less expensive. While it definitely is nowhere near as powerful as the speed freak, it does the job well. It is very light and the attachments are great. I have fine hair so it still takes quite a while to dry with this dryer.
